I received an email from Qdoba today that they are offering $2 Margaritas on Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) at participating St Louis locations. I didn't know they had a liquor license.

I love the fine print - Must be 21, valid ID required, dine in offer only. Offer good while supplies last. Of course, I can't believe they have to include that information.

Call ahead and make sure the Qdoba location closest to you is participating.

FREE Home Depot Kids Workshop - Build a Wheel Barrow

Saturday, May 2nd, from 9-noon, kids can build a wheel barrow at Home Depot's FREE Kids Workshop "How to Clinic." This clinic is designed for children ages 5-12. No preregistration necessary, just show up between 9 and noon.

In addition to the constructed project kit, each child receives a child-sized orange Home Depot apron and an achievement pin.

Home Depot offers Kids Workshops the first Saturday of every month. For those who are good at planning ahead, the next workshop is build a hardware sorter on June 6th.

For a limited time, Friday's is introducing their new sandwiches and salads by offering their entire sandwich and salad menu for just $5.

The new menu items look really good. I'm going try several of their new salads.

Friday's advertising is a little vague for this promotion. I called Friday's Downtown St Louis location for more info.

FREE Comic Book Day - Saturday 5/2

What is "Free Comic Book Day?"

As the name implies, Free Comic Book Day is a single day when participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops.

This event is held the first Saturday of May each year. You will receive at least one free comic when you visit a participating store.

Check out the comic books for this year's giveaway.

I took a look at Fantasy Shop's web page. You can have your picture taken with Batman, Robin or Batgirl at their St Charles or South County stores on Saturday. Check their web page for times.

When my oldest son was a preschooler, he idolized Batman and Robin. Now, he's leaving for college in the fall to major in physics. A professor at the University he's going to attend wrote the book "The Physics of Superheroes." My son's passions haven't changed, they have just morphed into something different.

My son works near The Fantasy Shop's South County location. I sure hope he stops in to get his picture taken with his heroes.

The coupon is good through May 11th and it states no minimum purchase required. I took a look at Dot's web page and they have many of items for under $10 - jewelery, sunglasses, flip flops, perfume, etc.

I was surprised when I checked Dots' store locator. I've driven by several of the Dots stores and never noticed them. I will now because of this offer.

Remember:

Some Walgreens might not let you use this coupon because it is for more than the price of the item. I wish Walgreens was consistent with how they dealt with coupons. You never know how a Walgreens store is going to handle overage. And it might be different every day or with every cashier.

Kmart

Wow, it was great fun at Kmart with double and triple coupons. I met Tisha, another couponer, and she had all her coupons in a binder. It was impressive. Tisha even paid the bill on my first trip - 21 cents. I didn't have any pocket change and she couldn't stand that I was going to have to break a $10 bill. Thanks, Tisha

I went to Kmart three times this week. Only paid for Ziploc Sandwich Bags, .19 a box, and full price for a Hartz flea collar. No Hartz coupons in the St Louis newspaper.

Saturday, April 25th from 10-11 am, kids can build a hang glider at a Free Lowes Build & Grow Clinic. This clinic is recommended for kids in grades 1 to 5.

Register for Lowe's Build & Grow clinic online. The first 50 kids to register and be present at the store at 10am will receive a kit, apron and goggles.

We still have little aprons and projects from the hardware store at our house. I might have to see what the neighbor's kids are doing Saturday morning. I had as much fun at these clinics as my boys did.

If you can't make it to this week's Build & Grow Clinic, the next clinic is May 9th to build a planter. Registration is open now.

Sing up with Cheerios, and starting in June they will email you weekly with a $1 coupon. You should be able to print two each week.

I love $1 cereal coupons. It's common for cereal to go on sale for just less than $2. I'll be stocking up on Cheerios this summer if I can buy them for less than $1.

And to think, I used to never buy brand name cereal because it was way too expensive. Now, I cringe when I see people buy the expensive "no name" cereal.

Wednesday Promotion at Chick-fil-A

A reader told me about this deal at Chick-fil-A. Thanks, Rebecca.

On Wednesdays, during the month of April, from 3-8, with any purchase, you get a free 3 pack of chicken strips. A cashier told Rebecca, a kids cone for .89 would qualify as the any purchase necessary.

I spoke with a Chick-fil-A manager at West County Center and she told me this promotion might be extended into May. But she didn't know if this was a nationwide deal or just the for St Louis area.

Menu Plan Monday 4/20

This week's theme - Too Busy to Cook

When the kids where little, my husband and I called the last month of school "May Madness." There were always too many things to do and places to be. Now, with older kids, we realise "May Madness" starts in mid March.

This year, with better planning, I hope to keep the trips through the drive through lane to a minimum.
