I shop at the Hampton Village Target in St Louis. Prices in my post reflect the prices at that store. Even within the St Louis Metro area, price on non-advertised items vary between stores. Prices at your store might be slightly different.
My "best buys" are items $1 or less, meat for $2 or less a pound and a few other items that are at rock bottom prices. When I keep my shopping list to these items, I can bring home a ton of groceries for very little money.
The small grocery stores in St Louis always seem to have great sale prices on produce and meat. If you live or work close to one of these stores, it is worth the stop.
This week at Dierbergs, you can pick up Swanson's Broth for .33 a can. I'm stocking up. It's hard to predict what the rock bottom price for an item will be, but I don't fret about it. When an item is at a price I'm willing to pay, I stock up.
