No Coupon Inserts this Sunday

Sunday 9/6/09

There is no coupon inserts schedules in this Sunday' newspapers due to the Labor Day weekend. Instead of the time you spend looking at the new coupons, spend the time doing a little organizing of the coupons you already have.

Saved 82% This Week

I didn't have much time to shop this week, since we were out of town for a few days. I didn't even make it to a local grocery store except for Aldi. But I have started to take a cooler with me when I travel for those items I can't pass up. This trip, I brought home meatballs from Ikea in Minneapolis and pork from HyVee in Iowa.


Target
Can you tell my son got into the potato chips before I could take the picture?

Total spent: $0 - I put $1.57 on a giftcard from a previous week's deal.
Total saved: $77.32

Kmart
I love Kmart when they double coupons.

Total spent: $0
Total saved: $29.19 for 100%

HyVee and Ikea
The meatballs, cream gravy mix and lingonberry preserves are from Ikea. I even found a tearpad coupon! The pork is from my beloved HyVee.

Total saved: $19.03 for 45% savings

Aldi
I had very little I needed at Aldi this week. I wouldn't have made the extra trip for such little savings, but I always like to put Aldi's price check on my blog.

Comparable Schnucks price: $6.18
Aldi price: $4.93
Saved $1.25 for 20% savings

Walgreens - I didn't take a picture of my tube of Rembrant toothpaste. I needed to roll a $4 Register Reward, so I ran into Walgreens and picked up some Rembrant, used a $1 coupon and my Register Reward. $0 out of pocket, and now I have a $5 Register Reward for next week.

FREE Home Depot Kids Workshop - Build a Bean Bag Toss

Saturday - September 5th

From 9-noon, kids can build a Bean Bag Toss at Home Depot's FREE Kids Workshop "How to Clinic." This clinic is designed for children ages 5-12. No preregistration necessary, just show up between 9 and noon.

In addition to the constructed project kit, each child receives a child-sized orange Home Depot apron and an achievement pin.

Find the location closest to you with Home Depot's Store Finder.

Home Depot offers Kids Workshops the first Saturday of every month. For those who are good at planning ahead, the next workshop is on October 3rd to build a Firehouse Bank.

Lots of readers have had questions about beer rebates. In Missouri, no beer purchase is ever required to qualify for a beer rebate; it must have something to do with state law. All you need to do is purchase the qualifying products, follow the instructions on the rebate and wait for your check. Beer rebates sound too good to be true, but they are for real!
