Walgreens Deals - Week of 10/25/09

Sale prices good October 25 - 31, 2009

Look for the Dulcolax ad in this week's flyer. It shows you can use a manufacturer coupon and receive a Register Reward. I'm going to cut this out, laminate it, and never shop at Walgreens again with it. If a cashier tells me I can't use a coupon and get a Register Reward, I'll just show them my little laminated card.

Remember, you can roll Register Rewards. Take a look at Quick Tip - Using Walgreens Register Rewards.

I highlight only the best deals. Take a look at Walgreens' full ad here (available on Sunday) or the ad scan at I Heart Wags

Coupon Preview 10/25/09

Sunday's St Louis Post-Dispatch has two coupon inserts - a SmartSource and a Red Plum.

Some of my favorite coupons this week:

• up to $30 on Breeze 2 or Contour Meter from Bayer - expires 4/30/10(use this coupon when Walgreens puts them on sale free after Register Rewards)
• B1G1 Air Wick Air Freshener Spray
• Buy Softsoap Ensembles liquid had soap pump get $2 off replacement base
• $1 Colgate Total
• $1 Wholly Guac or Salsa
• $1 Kahiki single serve or egg roll
• $1 Puffs Mutipack facial Tissue - TARGET COUPON
• .50 off 2 Progresso Soups
• .40 Betty Crocker Cookie Mix

Remember: You want multiple coupons to use when a product is at a rock bottom price. When it's a good coupon insert week, I purchase 4 or 5 papers and sometimes acquire more. At first, I thought it was crazy to spend money to save money. But I've always saved much more than my $1 investment.

DEAL$ and Dollar Tree sell the Sunday Post-Dispatch for $1. The early edition is published on Saturday and it includes all the coupon inserts. And they usually still have Sunday papers left on Monday. Find the Deal$ or Dollar Tree closest to you.

Saved 90% This Week

Kudos to both Walgreens and Target this week. They both had plenty of the sale items in stock. I usually shop on Sunday because I never expect them to have products left later in the week, but my stores on Friday were still well stocked.

Walgreens

I started the week with $10 in Register Rewards and ended with $33. While taking the picture, I noticed the $2 peelie coupon on one of my Zantacs. Oh no, I'll have to buy more Zantac tomorrow!

Before coupons & sales: $108.77
Total spent: $1.66
Total saved: $107.11 for 98%

Target

I'm getting use to picking up dog food for almost no money. I hope the trend continues.

Before coupons & sales: $94.50
Total spent: $2.72
Total saved: $92.78 for 97%

Schnucks

I couldn't come up with a good shopping plan for Shop 'n Save this week, so I headed to Schnucks Twin Oaks store to take advantage of them matching Shop 'n Save's $10 off $50 Thursday. It was worth the drive this week.

Before coupons & sales: $73.85
Total spent: $16.55
Total saved: $57.30 for 78%

Aldi

Comparable Schnucks price: $9.27
Aldi price: $7.30
Total saved: $1.97 for 21%

Weekly Totals
Before coupons & sales: $286.39
Total spent: $28.23
Total saved: $258.16 for 90%

Readers' Pic

Nancy sent me a picture of her Walgreens shopping this week.

Three transactions, $3.49 out of pocket and $25 Register Rewards to spend next week.

Way to go, Nancy!

Email pictures of your shopping trips to me and I will include them in my next post. I love seeing how much other people save.

Edit: The QuikTrip Coupon is now showing $1 off. I don't know if it said that earlier when I saw it and I just assumed it said Free or if it changed.

The FREE QuikTrip Sandwich coupon has reset for the umpteenth plus time. If you printed one earlier this week, you will be able to print again.

Use a St Louis zip code or a zip code of one of their locations around the nation. Check the QuikTrip's store locator HERE.

Remember: These coupons are also good for a wrap or salad. (Thanks, CJ!)
