Saved 67% This Week

Besides a quick trip to CVS (where I used five coupons), I didn't clip or use another coupon all week.  It was enjoyable to take a brief coupon vacation.  I'm all rested up for the big onslaught of great deals that will be coming the next few weeks.

CVS
I'm lovin' CVS's $5 off $20 coupons that has been in the last few Sunday Post-Dispatches.  It comes at a perfect time of year with the diabetes meters on sale.  I'm growing my ECBs to purchase an Entertainment Book just  for the $5 off $50 Shop 'n Save coupons, and the free McDonald's Frappe.

Sappington Farmers' Market

Yes, two trips to Sappington Farmers' Market.  I stopped there on Sunday to pick up stew meat and a sirloin tip roast that was on sale.  Sunday afternoon isn't the time of week to find a well stocked meat department.  They were out of the roast until Monday, but they had London Broil marked down.  Way down, because it was close to its use by date.  I don't care what the date is when all I'm going to do is put it in the freezer.

I fixed stew on Monday.  Stew is not my favorite meal, but the guys in the family love it - they will even eat Dinty Moore.  I have to say, the stew meat was the best I have ever had.  I had to go back for more - I might actually start to like stew with that quality of meat.

Dierbergs
Since I was back to Sappington Farmers' Market on Tuesday, I stopped in at Dierbergs to see if they had any meat marked down.  I've had success finding "manager specials" the first day of the new ad. And I was in luck. Both ground chuck and chicken tenders were marked down to $1.99 lb.  I should be well stocked on beef for awhile.

Splurge Funds: $94.26

For those who don't read my blog on a regular basis, my splurge funds are the difference between what I've actually spent and my $50 budget. I use it for those items I never find on sale or that I don't have coupons for.
