My beef-loving son is home for Christmas break, so I have as much beef on the menu as the other family members will allow.
Prices vary between Target stores even in the same Metro area. The prices I've listed in ongoing deals reflect the prices at the Hampton Village Target in St Louis. Hopefully, prices at the Target you shop will be about the same or even less.
The January Coupon Book is now available at Walgreens. Find this coupon book in the store with the weekly ads. January coupons are good now through 1/30/10.
Johnny's Market in South County has Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage, 1 pound rolls, on a Buy 1 Get 1 sale. With this sale and Jimmy Dean coupons from Facebook, you can pick these up for best price I've seen for sausage.
For the new Walgreens shopper, Walgreens can seem terribly confusing. If you go in with a plan, shopping at Walgreens is much easier. Some weeks, you can bring home a ton of merchandise for very little money, other weeks not as much. But you always save lots of money shopping Walgreens sales and rolling Register Rewards.

I finally got out to use my Hallmark and Fannie May coupons, and I bought all chocolate. Whew, I can't imagine spending full price for chocolate.
My Register Rewards keep dwindling. I did roll a few into TheraFlu, but burned the rest of them on batteries. I'm down to $6 of Register Rewards to spend in the next couple of weeks.
I bought the apples at Sappington Farmers' Market and the rest of the items at Johnny's Market. Neither store is the most convenient for me, but when I hit both stores in one outing, they don't seem so inconvenient. I was pleasantly surprised to find ground chuck for $2.19 per pound (regular price) at Johnny's and used my Jimmy Dean $1 coupons for the sausage. I didn't know if Johnny's took internet printable coupons, or if they would accept 2 coupons on a buy one get one deal, but they did both. The sausage ended up being .85 a package. I need to get back out to Johnny's before the sale is over to use the rest of my Jimmy Dean coupons.

My family could be called the Jack Sprat family. My oldest loves beef, the youngest chicken, husband pork, and I prefer seafood (but that doesn't fit in the budget.) And the dog goes crazy over anything that isn't dry and out of a bag. With my oldest home for Christmas break, I was on the look out for a good price on beef. Finally, I found marked down meat at Schnucks - and it was beef. Even the beef on sale with an additional 25% off was over my "buy price" of $2 a pound, but my oldest will be gone again in a few weeks.
