Saved 78% This Week

I've gotten into a bad habit of shopping some on the weekend and then again during the week, and I'll probably do it again this next week.  I've yet to get to Walgreens or back to Schnucks to take advantage of the General Mills Catalina deal.  I really try to stay within my budget,  but I'm not sure it's worth my time since I always want to chase more deals.  I need to dip into my splurge funds and get all my shopping done during the week.

CVS
I ended up spending most of my ECB this week on paper towel.  Surprisingly, CVS finally had Miracle Whip back in stock, so I ended up using my raincheck before my coupons expired.

Before sales & coupons: $69.27
Spent: $2.20
Saved: $67.07 for a 97% saving

Schnucks
I took my husband with me last Sunday to buy get paid to buy the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls.  I stopped at two different stores and went through the self checkout with two transactions per store.  After coupons, six cinnamon rolls came to $3.  I paid for them with a $3 Catalina coupon and received two $3 Catalina coupons back.  Did you know the self checkouts don't spit out a receipt when your balance is $0?

Before sales & coupons: $45.65
Spent: $1.69
Saved: $43.96 for a 96% savings

Dierbergs
Two trips to Dierbergs this week. One, last weekend to get in on last week's sales and again during the middle of the week. At first glance, it doesn't look like I save as much at Dierbergs as I do at other stores, but they always seem to have a few products on sale I don't ever see on sale elsewhere.  I know I've never purchased ricotta on sale with a coupon before.

Before sales & coupons: $70.36
Spent: $29.66
Saved: $40.70 for a 58% savings

Aldi
Comparable Schnucks price: $23.57
Spent: $12.97
Saved: $10.60 for a 45% savings

Weekly Totals
Before sales & coupons: $208.85
Spent: $46.52
Saved: $162.33 for a 78% savings

Year to Date Totals
Spent: $1,650.70 ($40 weekly average)
Saved: $5,621.51 ($137 weekly average)

Splurge Funds: $35.18

For those who don't read my blog on a regular basis, my splurge funds are the difference between what I've actually spent and my $50 budget. I use it for those items I never find on sale or that I don't have coupons for.
