Every week, I challenge myself to come up with a menu plan with ingredients I already have in the house. The only thing I need to buy for this week's menu is spicy sausage.
Monday: French Bean Cassoulet
- This was on last week's menu, but didn't happen. I love this type of recipe where you throw everything into the Crockpot and let it do it's magic.
- Broccoli & mushrooms were on sale this past week at Dierbergs and that means Pasta Con Broccoli will be on our menu.
- I have some frozen turkey from the holidays that needs to be used. The recipe calls for chicken, but I always use my leftover turkey for this recipe.
- This is another recipe where I let the produce that is on sale determine what I put on the menu.
- I fixed this dish a few week's ago with the Sun-Bird seasoning mixes I picked up at Shop 'n Save for almost no money. My family liked it a lot. Not quite as good as carryout, but close.
- I put my grilled cauliflower in the oven instead of on the grill.
- I fixed Pioneer Woman's Skillet Cornbread for the first time a few week's ago. I loved the texture of it, but prefer my cornbread a little sweeter. I might try to add some sugar to the recipe. Hopefully it won't mess it up by doing that.
