CVS $5 Scenario - Week of 2/14/10

This is a great week to start CVSing. The first thing you will need is an Extra Care Card. Sign up for one at the store and use it the same day.

With only four stores in town, don't be discouraged if the store you visit runs out of stock. Ask for a raincheck - see more info HERE.

Take a look at this week's deals for where to find the coupons.

Transaction #1
purchase (1) Crest Pro Health Rinse $3.50
use (1) Crest Rinse coupon -$2.00
= $1.50 + tax out of pocket and receive $3.50 ECB

Transaction #2
purchase (1) Crest Pro Health Rinse $3.50
use (1) Crest Rinse coupon -$2.00
= $1.50 + tax out of pocket and receive $3.50 ECB

You could purchase both Crest Rinses in one transaction, but if you do, you will end up with (1) $7.00 ECB. Purchase them in two transactions and you have (2) $3.50 ECBs. Smaller ECBs are more convenient to work with.

Transaction #3
purchase (1) Aussie product $2.99
purchase (1) PowerBar Energy Gel Blast $1.50
use (1) Aussie coupon -$1
= $3.49
use $3.50 ECB
= $0.00 out of pocket and receive $2 and $1.50 ECB

The cashier can reduce the value of your ECB. You lose a penny, but this is much cheaper than buying a filler you don't need or want.

Value of products purchased: $11.49
Total Out of Pocket: $3.00 and $7 of ECB's to use within the next month.
