Saved 84% This Week

I had a great shopping week, even though I didn't make to Dierbergs for my free chips. I was planning to stop there this afternoon, but it was way too hot. I've come to the conclusion I'm a fair weather shopper. I don't like to shop if it's too hot, too cold, raining or snowing. That leaves me a few weeks here in St Louis to stock up.

Shop 'n Save
It had been quite a while since I shopped on a $10 off $50 Thursday. I like to keep my coupons for free items to use on those trips, and I had quite a few. Kahiki, Kraft 100 Calorie Bites, Diet Cokes and Kitten Chow were all free. And, I always use a $5 off $50 coupon from the Entertainment Book, too.

Before sales & coupons: $79.19
Spent: $6.24
Saved: $72.85 for 92%

CVS
I hadn't planned on a CVS trip this week, but couldn't resist the $4 money-maker on Gillette.

Before sales & coupons: $9.98
Spent: $1.00
Saved: $8.98 for 90%

Walgreens
I try not to spend more than $5 out of pocket at Walgreens for the week, but again, there were too many money-makers to resist. I can't remember how many Register Rewards I started with, but I know I'm ahead for the week.

Before sales & coupons: $53.40
Spent: $6.20
Saved: $47.20 for 88%

Schnucks
Since I needed to buy dog food, I drove out to the Twin Oaks store to take advantage of their matching Shop 'n Save's $10 off $50. Anything to take the bite out of a dog food purchase. I again had quite a few coupons for free products - Oscar Mayer Deli Meat, Kool Aid, Chef Michael's, DiGiorno and Diet Coke were all free. I'm going to submit my receipt for the $6 Bud rebate when you buy $10 of steak.

Before sales & coupons: $69.73
Spent: $16.57
Saved: $53.16 for 76%

Aldi
I would have never made a trip to Aldi for the little bit I purchased. But, I like to post produce prices each week, so I may as well pick up what I need while I'm there.

Comparable Schnucks price: $6.47
Spent: $4.42
Saved: $2.05 for 32%

My Splurge

Tuscan Bread from Whole Foods x 2 - $7.98. The bread at Whole Foods is to die for. I had to make a trip back for a second loaf.

Weekly Totals
Before sales & coupons: $218.77
Spent: $34.53
Saved; $184.24 for 84%

Year to Date Totals
Spent: $1,010.68
($42 weekly average)
Saved: $3208.56 ($133 weekly average)

Splurge Funds: $180.71

For those who don't read my blog on a regular basis, my splurge funds are the difference between what I've actually spent and my $50 budget. I use it for those items I never find on sale or that I don't have coupons for.
