Saved 73% This Week

This week's savings were all at the grocery store. I didn't even stop at CVS, Walgreens or Target. I'm definitely a weather wimp - I don't like to venture out any more than I need to in the cold weather. 

I'm over budget again this week. I'm glad I have plenty of money in my splurge funds to make up the difference. 

Shop 'n Save

Of course, I shopped on $10 off $50 Thursday, used a $5 off $50 coupon from the Entertainment book, plus I had $14 in Catalinas from last week.  When you start with $29 off, it's not too hard to save a ton of money at Shop 'n Save.

Schnucks (2 trips)

I've been wanting to get out of that bad habit of catching the last few days of the Schnucks sale, and then shopping again during the week.  But this week, when I realised I was out of chicken, I needed to get to Schnucks before last week's sale was over.

For those who don't read my blog on a regular basis, my splurge funds are the difference between what I've actually spent and my $50 budget. I use it for those items I never find on sale, don't have coupons for, or when I'm over budget.
